Banjo
Puppets Presents Apples and Oranges
Where
does our food come from? Whats in the food that we eat? This interactive
puppet show is hosted by a very special group of multi-talented fruits,
vegetables, and professional edible musicians. Explore ideas about healthy
local food and how things grow through pop songs, storytelling, and interpretive
dance. Suitable for all ages. Bring your blanket and the whole family.
Be sure to arrive early for a free tour of the Childrens Teaching
Garden!

DAY
Summer
may be over, but the garden continues to flourish! Campers and their families
are invited back to celebrate and gather the marvellous harvest from the
work of many small hands. Reunite with camp leaders, staff, friends and
special guests to harvest vegetables grown in our very own garden.

HALLOWEEN
HOWL
Come
in costume to our annual Halloween extravaganza! Hike to our outdoor haunted
garden to meet Halloweens creepy creatures and find a few treats
too! Inside well meet spider plants and other creepy crawlies and
warm up with a cup of cider. Indoor location available for inclement weather.
Adult accompaniment and registration required.

Winter
Solstice Celebration
Celebrate
the beginning of winter as we explore the beauty of the forest and learn
what the animals are doing during the holidays. Indoors well make
decorations for our outdoor trees and warm up with some hot chocolate
and a wonderful winter story! Adult accompaniment and registration required.

OWL PROWL
What could be cooler than a winters evening stroll through an owls
forest home? Bring the family out to The James Boyd Childrens Centre
to learn about how owls see in the dark and how they fly without sound.
Dissect an owl pellet to find tiny skulls inside! Then bundle up and head
out to the forest to call for owls and listen for their winter song. Adult
accompaniment and registration required.

GET THE
JUMP ON SPRING
Visiting children can take part in a variety of fun, hands-on activities
in our nature classroom. Adult accompaniment is required. Program staff
will offer a mini-lecture at 2 p.m. designed to inspire new parents about
ways to introduce toddlers and young children to nature. Dont miss
story time at the Weston Family Library at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
