With the generous
support of our donors, Toronto Field Naturalists, Midge Cooper and the Leonard and Gabryela Osin Foundation, the Toronto Botanical Garden
offers LIVING WINTER, a free program and transportation for grade four
classes in high needs communities throughout Toronto. The LIVING WINTER
program runs from November to February and takes place in The James Boyd
Childrens Centre and the surrounding grounds. It provides innovative,
curriculum-linked habitat programs for children and encourages students
to appreciate urban green space from new perspectives through immersion
and hands-on learning.
During their
visit Grade 4 students may:
- Explore
outdoor winter habitats
- Discover
a day in the life of the creatures in and around Edwards Gardens
