SUMMER NATURE CAMPS

NEW! Full Day Camps and Extended Care Camps are held primarily outdoors, but campers will also explore the artifacts in The James Boyd Children’s Centre. Be sure to send campers with water, sunscreen, a hat, nut-free snacks and clothing appropriate for the weather of the day.

Animal Camp
If your little one is curious about creatures, this camp is for you! Learn which animals live in and around the TBG, find out what they eat, create cool animal crafts, sing fun songs and help our animal friends by planting in the garden!

Creature Camp
[TG11SCC] Campers will spend this week exploring the gardens for animals, going on bug-hunts, learning about amazing animal adaptations, and making some cool animal crafts. We will celebrate all our learning with a live animal show!

Adventure Camp
[TG11SADV] There are so many adventures to have at the TBG! We’ll become explorers as we find our way through the woods, pirates when we search for hidden treasure, and time travelers while we discover the ancient past. A new discovery each day!

[TG11STIV] Explore all the different ways you can be creative! Paint, draw, make sculptures, act, sing, dance and even explore animation during this week of artistic creation.

Art Camp

[TG11SCI] Examine insects, explore animal x-rays, make slime, and do science experiments both in the classroom and outdoors during this week of science fun! A new science topic each day!

Cooking Camp
[TG11SCOOK] Calling all foodies and kids who love cooking! Spend a fun-filled week in the garden growing and picking fresh ingredients, creating simple and delicious treats and playing fun outdoor activities and games. All creations will be nut-free.

PROGRAMS FOR 9 TO 11 YEAR OLDS

Green Explorers Camp
[TG11SLC] Explore Biodiver-CITY during this full-day camp. We will learn about the important role plants, animals and insects play in a healthy community with field trips to green spots throughout the city including a final trip to the ROM!  All trips will have a minimum 1:4 ratio.
