Nature in the City

The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and the Toronto Botanical Garden (TBG) are joining forces in an exciting and inspiring booth that will illustrate how nature can survive – and even triumph – in the city.

This year’s Canada Bloom is the launch of the ROM and the Toronto Botanical Garden’s month-long celebration of nature in the city in April. Through a series of lectures and programs they will build upon-- the ROM’s Schad Gallery – a premier gallery on the conservation of natural eco-system and the education and protection of native plants from invasive plants and the Toronto Botanical Garden’s 17 award-winning gardens and green rooftops, used as outdoor classrooms for hands-on learning that educate and inspire on issues of sustainability and conservation -- to encourage visitors to the booth to stop and take a closer look at their urban environment around them. The booth will persuade visitors to discover bugs and birds and the often hidden green spaces on building roof tops. The message is nature is all around us and flourishing, even in the heart of downtown.  This is a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon and celebrate the positive aspects of the natural world that connects us all.
