This NEW series will inspire you to grow, prepare and eat fresh locally-grown produce. You will learn how we grow our vegetables and fruits and then taste them in dishes prepared by a professional chef. Each evening event will also include a gardening / culinary author each of whom is passionate about locally-grown food and sustainable farming techniques. Paul Zammit, TBG Director of Horticulture hosts each event.

Doors Open
Saturday & Sunday, May 28 & 29, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Author of City Farmer: Adventures in Urban Food Growing and well-known garden writer, Lorraine Johnson will join us.

Go Local: Summer Appetizers

So where do you buy locally-grown foods and how do you know what to buy? Urban hunter and gatherer and food columnist for CBC Radio's Here&Now, Sarah Elton, will let you in on all the secret eateries and markets she has discovered. She will also highlight compelling reasons all Canadians should go local (check out her new book, Locavore, for more). Chef Simon Kattar shows his usual magic creating delectable summer appetizers sourced from locally-grown foods and from our kitchen garden.
