This NEW
series will take you through all the stages of successful and sustainable
gardening - from planning your garden to harvesting and preparing for
the next growing season. Each class will have both outdoor and indoor
components and you will leave with a container planted with seasonally
appropriate vegetables. Classes will be taught by many of our star instructors
with a few special guest appearances. Suitable for those with small balconies
or large properties.

Tending
Your Plot: Summer Crops &
Growing Techniques
[PG10W22] Marjorie Mason, Sandra Pella & Paul Zammit
This session will cover all the vegetables you know and love (which thrive
in warm weather) and the techniques necessary to grow them. Well
cover mulching, staking, vertical growing, weeding, watering and early
harvests. Youll learn to grow tomatoes, peppers, herbs and more
in containers and plant one up for home. Pleasebring lunch.

Lavender Fair & Lunch
Kate Seaver
Join Kate Seaver as she shows you how to
grow, maintain, harvest and preserve lavender.
Kate will share dozens of ideas for lavender’s
various uses. This event includes a lunch
featuring lavender-infused beverages, foods
and cookies. Lavender plants, DIY kits and
products will also be for sale. Fee includes
instruction, lunch and Lavender Lore booklet.

The Harvest:
Enjoying the Fruits of Your Labour

Now is the time to really enjoy the fruits of your labour. This session
will include a cooking and canning lesson with a special guest chef and
a session on what vegetables to plant for a late harvest. Youll
take home a container with new vegetables and herbs. Please bring lunch.

Rooftop Garden Tour & Luncheon
at The Fairmont Royal York

Join Marjorie Mason for a private tour of the
rooftoop herb and vegetable garden at The
Fairmont Royal York Hotel. The only one of its
kind in Toronto, the rooftop garden features
beehives that provide honey and beds of herbs,
vegetables and edible flowers that executive
chef David Garcelon uses in the hotel’s restaurants.
The tour includes a three-course lunch
at EPIC, the hotel’s Four Diamond restaurant.

Storing, Seed Saving and Overwintering

Join us for the annual TBG Harvest Day celebration and learn how to harvest
and store special crops such as potatoes, beets, squashes and carrots.Youll
also learn how to save your seeds, what crops to overwinter, which ones
to pull out and how to plan for next years garden. The take-home
container for this final class will take you through the winter months
with herbs, sprouts and lettuces.
