Volunteers
Volunteers
will be taught how to collect, press and dry plant specimens in early
spring at the TBG. This new venture will be partnered by the ROM who will
be storing the specimens after freezing and mounting them. Teaching will
be free. Time commitment will average 3 hours a week in the growing season.
Herbarium specimens provide research material for many vital disciplines
such as forestry, agriculture, anthropology, ecology, forensic, horticulture,
veterinary science, poison control and pharmaceutical research.

collect data/ monitor growth habits of plants
in TBG gardens

creative volunteer for interpretive signage
No experience
is necessary but a basic knowledge and love of plants or gardening would
be helpful.
Indoor
Plant Volunteers
Volunteers
are needed to care for indoor plants and arrange cut flowers occasionally
for the reception area. This job entails watering, removing dying
foliage and fertilize occasionally
Volunteer
Gardeners
Volunteer
gardeners are always welcomed to join our team. From late April to late
October. Jobs include mulching, digging, raking, taking care of container
plants and the inevitable weeding. Choose your own days and hours. 3 hours
is a suggested minimum. Must be fairly physically fit. Challenges are
weather related only. Tools available and training on site.
